GETTING STARTED WITH AUTOCAD - THE USER INTERFACE

The AutoCAD software from the AUTODESK is one of the widely used drafting software which is used in different industries such as Mechanical , Civil , Architectural , Electrical etc.

Apart from drafting ( 2D drawing ) , we can also create 3D models using the AutoCAD software to visualize our ideas or present our ideas.

AutoCAD also has separate versions for Mechanical , Civil , Architectural , Electrical industries which are same as almost the basic version of AutoCAD but it has specific features related to the specific industries which makes it a little easier to work and could save some time for you.

Anyhow knowing how to work with the AutoCAD software is the basic for all.  

So let's go through the basic user interface of AutoCAD software.

The AutoCAD user interface has the following ,
  •  TITLE BAR
  •  APPLICATION MENU
  •  QUICK ACCESS TOOLBAR
  •  MENU TABS AND PANELS ( RIBBON)
  •  DRAWING AREA
  •  VIEW CUBE
  •  COMMAND BAR
  •  STAUS BAR
