You can use the ERASE command to erase or delete an object in AutoCAD.

The ERASE command is available in the MODIFY panel in the HOME tab.

You can also activate the ERASE command by typing the word "ERASE" from key board. As soon as you start typing it , the command will appear in the command line and you can click on it to activate(start) it.
