OBJECT SNAP is one more drafting setting available in the status bar of the AutoCAD software.
OBJECT SNAP helps you to find out different kind of points ( midpoint , endpoint , intersection etc. ) available in the existing drawings in the drawing area.
For example without the OBJECT SNAP turned on you won't be able to draw a line from the end point of one more line in the drawing area.
Always keep the OBJECT SNAP turned on. Do choose only upto 5 points in the OBJECT SNAP setting.
